Blackleg Miner - Free download single

The Rowan Amber Mill release free download single on May Day

1st May 2020

The Rowan Amber Mill have been making the most of the lockdown to record some new music. For the past few weeks they have been working with the maginificently talented Kim Guy (after a 10 year hiatus) on a number of traditional songs.

The first of these songs to be released is made available to download for free today. The song is one of our favourite traditional folk songs, and it is called Blackleg Miner. You can stream / download it for free over on Bandcamp.

It seems fitting on May Day to give the song away for free. This particular songs seems appropriate in these times. When we come out the other side of this dreadful situation, we are going to need more than ever before to join together in true solidarity, to ensure that everybody can get back on their feet, and to build a better future for one and all.

By the way, Bandcamp are waiving their fees on 1st May, so if you were thinking of buying some music on Bandcamp, then today would be a good day to purchase it and help support artists at the same time. Here is the MillerSounds Bandcamp site.

If you want to keep up with all the minutiae of what the Rowan Amber Mill, are getting up to, then why not check them out on their FaceBook, Twitter or Instagram presences. At these places, they regularly reveal their internal monologues, musings, recommendations and quite a lot of photos of trees. Why not pop over and say hello!
