Silent Night Songs for a Cold Winter's Evening is the result of a collaboration between The Rowan Amber Mill and singer/songwriter/producer Angeline Morrison (of Freestyle Records, The Mighty Sceptres, and The Ambassadors of Sorrow). The six track mini-album is a collection of seasonal songs (traditional carols, a wassail and newly-penned tracks) evoking a pastoral woodland idyll in the depths of winter. The pro-grade full colour CDr is housed in a handcrafted digipack in choice of glossy white or recycled folky buff card featuring a hand drawn ink illustration by Angeline.

CDs are available to buy in the MillerSounds Store and Bandcamp, as well as all the usual online places Amazon, iTunes, CDbaby etc. A Deluxe Download version including a four previously unreleased versions of tracks, video, expanded artwork and lyrics, is available exclusively from Bandcamp.

Reviews

"Silent Night Songs for a Cold Winter’s Evening, demands nothing more than that you let it play… let it fill the room and your imagination too. And if you find you’re still playing it in early spring, or at the height of summer… so what? Good music, great records, should be enjoyable all year round. And this is one that will be." - Dave Thompson, Goldmine magazine.

"An immensely evocative warmth-in-a-chilly-climate offering whose avowed intent is to summon forth the spirit and aura of a woodland idyll in winter - and succeeds admirably." - David Kidman, FATEA magazine.

"'Silent Night Songs for a Cold Winter's Evening' is an essential companion for these dark, midwinter evenings when the shadows and cold are encroaching and a little Yule spirit is much needed." - Grey Malkin, The Active Listener.

"A nod to truly pre-Christian traditions where orchards are toasted to ward away evil spirits, it neatly encapsulates the duality of the album, the breadth of musicianship and the cosy yet cautious listener who can delight in this seasonal offering whilst trying not to look from the corner of their eye." - Paul Woodgate, Bright Young Folk.
