Meadowsilver are the three pysch-folksters comprising Gayle Brogan
(Pefkin, Burd Ellen), Grey Malkin (Widow's Weeds, Hare and the Moon) and Stephen Stannard
(The Rowan Amber Mill , Rowan : Morrison). The music of
Meadowsilver has been described variously as pysch folk prog, but also
deeply kaleidocscopic.
Having previously long-threatened to work together on something, Grey and
Stephen finally started the process of recording an armful of tunes in
2018. As the recording of the music of those songs was in progress, the
final piece in the jigsaw was fitted in with Gayle joining. In 2019, Meadowsilver released a handful of digital
releases, followed
by the release of a CD e.p. and a very well received debut album that
sold out incredibly quickly, as did the re-release. From September 2021
to February 2022, Meadowsilver have recorded a brand new album that they
are very happy with. Three singles were
released in March and April 2022, prior to the release of the
album 'II' in June 2022.

Meadowsilver Biogs
Gayle Brogan: "Pefkin is the alter ego of Gayle Brogan, Ayrshire-based creator of slowly-unfolding, ritualistic psychedelic hymnals
that draw heavily on the landscape and natural world. She uses layers of vocals, violin, analogue synth and zither, has received
comparisons to Coil, Popul Vuh and Nico, and has performed at GI Festival, a symposium on alchemy in sound, on a remote Orkney island in
a kelp-drying shed, Terrascopian Woolf festival and on Radio 3’s Exposure strand. She is also a member of Barrett’s Dottled Beauty,
Electroscope, Burd Ellen and a sometime United Bible Student."
Grey Malkin: "When not practising necromancy or playing with his cat, Grey Malkin is a member of Widow's Weeds, Embertides and
The Mortlake Bookclub. He once was a part of Scottish haunted folk outfit The Hare And The Moon (now deceased) who released five albums
showcasing their own peculiar and spooked take on traditional music. Additionally he has played on albums and songs by Stone Breath's
Timothy Renner, The Floating World, David Colohan, Michael Warren, Sproatly Smith, Palace Of Swords, Acorn Falling, Daughters of Grief,
Kitchen Cynics, Trappist Afterland, Katje Janisch and The Ilk, as well as recording two joint albums with Belgium's Ashtoreth.
Grey has also been grateful to collaborate with Alison O' Donnell (Mellow Candle), Ken Patterson (Caedmon) and the acid folk band
Sourdeline".
Stephen Stannard: "Down the years Stephen has written and recorded under various guises, both solo and as part of a bands. He co-founded
Miller at the turn of the millenium, recording two folky/Americana albums before calling it a day. In 2007 he formed the band The Rowan Amber Mill which
has seen Stephen performing solo and with others in various pastoral, folk horror, seasonal and psch-folk stylings. He has also recorded under a few psuedonyms
including Making Tea for Robots, with an album of analogue synth (re)creations of imagined 1970s schools and colleges TV programmes."
